512. Rhyhorn

Rhyhorn (Japanese: サイホーン Sihorn) is a dual-type Ground/Rock Pokémon.

It evolves into Rhydon starting at level 42, who evolves into Rhyperior when traded holding a Protector.

Physiology

Rhyhorn is a small rhinoceros-like creature with a body of gray, rocky plates, a ridge on its back, and visible fangs protruding from its upper jaw. Rhyhorn has four short legs with two claws and a triangle-shaped head with a single, short horn. Rhyhorn has small triangular openings on the sides of its head, which can be presumed to be ears.

Gender differences

A female has a shorter horn.

Special abilities

Rhyhorn most well known method of attack is to charge straight into things. A charging Rhyhorn can knock a trailer flying. Rhyhorn can also use various Rock and Ground attacks. Rhyhorn can learn elemental attacks, but these types of attacks aren’t very strong when used by Rhyhorn (save for the elemental fangs). Rhyhorn is one of the few Pokémon capable of learning Megahorn.

Behavior

One can say that Rhyhorn has rocks for brains because it can only remember one thing at a time. A perfect example of this is whenever a Rhyhorn starts charging, it’ll forget why it did so in the first place.

Habitat

Rhyhorn live in open plains and mountain ranges. They are often found in Kanto & the Battle Zone and occasionally in Sinnoh. They have also been imported to the Hoenn Safari Zone.
